Our idea and design were not born in a hip design studio, but in front of the bathroom mirror! In one of the many everyday moments where you look at yourself and feel the realities of life.

For many years I carried a heavy and silent feeling of low self-esteem. I know exactly what it's like to lie awake at night doubting your own worth. I know how incredibly easy it is to lose yourself in the demands of everyday life, and feel like you're never quite enough.

But throughout life, and in close encounters with those closest to me, something has fallen into place. Especially watching my children grow up – with all their vulnerability, their ups and downs, and their beautiful moments – has given me a crystal-clear revelation:

We humans forget far too quickly. We need to be reminded.

We need a firm foothold in our daily lives that whispers to us when the storm is at its worst. A reminder that you are more than enough just as you are. That your existence has a profound meaning. And most importantly: That you are infinitely loved.

The story behind the reversed words!

Have you ever stood in front of the mirror, looked down at yourself, and just needed to hear that everything is going to be okay? That you are good enough, just the way you are?

It was precisely in such a vulnerable moment that the idea for Sarswa was born. We all live in a hectic world that constantly demands something of us. We are bombarded with impressions, sky-high expectations and a constant pressure of fashion. For far too long, clothing has been about what others see when they look at you. Our goal is to turn that focus completely around – together with you.

For us at Sarswa, clothing is so much more than just threads and fabrics. It is an extension of how we treat ourselves.

When you wear our reversed words, you don't just wear a garment; you become part of an invisible community of people who refuse to let everyday life weigh you down. We stand together to create a space for more generosity, better inner dialogue, and true self-love. You are never alone in doubting, and you are never alone in needing a reminder.

Our upside down design and choice of words has a very special reason: 

Our clothes are not made for everyone around us to read or understand! They are made just for YOU! 

When you are in a stressful situation, having a bad day, or just need a little lift, you should be able to look down at your chest and there you will see a word in a beautiful language that reminds you: 

That you are loved 

That your presence matters

That you have the strength to seize the day and be the best version of yourself.

To everyone else, the text and design will seem like a unique element or a mystery. To you, it's a personal anchor. It's a hug in textile form, a silent cheerleader who is always with you no matter where you go. 

Languages that unite us: 

The need to feel loved, seen and valued knows no borders. It is a universal human longing. That is why we source words from different cultures and languages all over the world. By weaving these unique words into our garments, we want to create an invisible but strong community of people who choose to be a little more generous with themselves and their loved ones.

When you put on a Sarswa garment, you're not just putting on a hoodie or a t-shirt. You're putting on an active intention. You're wrapping yourself in a promise to be kind to yourself - right where you stand, just as you are.

When the conversation gets difficult.

Talking about what hurts has never been easy, and it probably never will be. We see it so often: We notice it in a heavy breath, an evasive look or a forced smile when those we love the most are struggling. Yet most of us choose to avoid the difficult conversation. Not because we don't care, but because we are so afraid of making a mistake, making things worse or opening up a topic that is too painful to bear.

I was in this situation myself and thought: There has to be another way. A way to tell someone I love exactly how much they mean to me, without forcing them to talk about what hurts.

Imagine if you could give away a hoodie, and as they unwrap it, they look down at their chest. There, embroidered upside down, is a single word: Ikigai.

To the world around it just looks like a beautiful, mysterious design. But to the wearer, it's a secret and vital message that can be read perfectly every time they look down: "You are my reason for being. You are the reason I get up in the morning. You mean everything."

In this way, a piece of clothing becomes a wordless declaration of love. A safe hug they can put on on those days when everything feels dark.
